Some of Tokyo’s private saunas sit inside hotels. That matters for two reasons: you can use them for the day without staying the night, and if you are already jet-lagged, you can walk from the sauna straight to a bed. We list 7 hotel-attached private saunas we have confirmed in Tokyo.
A note on the word “onsen”. A private sauna is not a hot spring. Of the 52 places we track, only one has an actual onsen (KUDOCHI onsen Roppongi — three sauna types plus a hot spring, open 24 hours). If a genuine hot spring is what you want, that is the one to look at.

- Price range is wide: ¥2,900 to ¥8,000 to start, and the unit differs (per 60 min, per 90 min, per 3 hours). Check the unit column, not just the number.
- Book ahead. Weekends fill up one to three days in advance.

Can I use a hotel sauna without staying at the hotel?
Often yes — these are sold as private sauna sessions, not as a hotel amenity. Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo Ariake says so explicitly. For the rest, confirm with the venue.
Is there a private onsen in Tokyo?
Hot springs are rare inside central Tokyo. Among the places we track, KUDOCHI onsen Roppongi is the one with a real onsen alongside its saunas.
